About

Leicester, 22-23 Jan 2022 & 3 Feb (optional online evening workshop) Learn how to use ethical design practices to make your growing space productive and resilient by working with nature. We will be looking at both the theory and practice of designing a plot including soil health, planting plans and materials, water use and harvesting, and how to centre your design to meet the permaculture ethics of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Shares. This is a two-day course based in Leicester. On day one, we will be meeting at the Parish Centre in Evington and on day two we will be travelling to a nearby site to put the learning from day one into a practical context. There will be an optional online evening design workshop for you to ask follow up questions and further explore the subject in the light of your own design ideas. The Parish Centre is a fully accessible venue. We will be visiting either an allotment site or smallholding on day two. The allotment site will be fully accessible but the smallholding has some rough terrain. To maintain social distancing, places are limited to twelve (three concession places). The full price is £120 for the weekend including the optional evening workshop. £100 for residents of Evington (book a resident of Evington place). A £60 concession rate is also available (book a concession place for this rate) - no proof of income is required but we are only able to offer three of these places. Please email us at info@seedoftheforest.co.uk to offer to pay forward for more concession places.
